ARTIST IN RESIDENCE (AIR) PROGRAMS


Applications are open for our first wave of residents!

Artists, designers, writers are all encouraged to apply.

Applications will be accepted and cohorts assembled on a rolling basis, starting Jan 1st 2026


PROGRAM

Our residency program is designed for artists who want to develop their atristic practice or work on specific projects. All residents may recieve training on new equiptment and attend workshops to develop their indiviual projects and make new work. There are no specific outcome requirements and we encourage artists to use this time and space to learn and explore. 

We offer 3 different residency types- RISO, Silkscreen, and Studio. All residents recieve dedicated space in a shared studio and optional trainings. 

We accept one resident per catagory at a time to provide the most access to equiptent and tools.

Residents may apply as individuals or teams.

RISO RESIDENCY


RISO artists will have training on both our MH 9450 Dual Drum RISO Duplicator, and our EZ Single Drum Duplicator. RISO residents should be making work primarily with the Duplicators, but training on other machines and silkscreening tools is encouraged.

*Please note- our EZ and MH drums are not compatible and each machine only takes the pallet listed.

Both machines print up to 11x17” and can print directly from computer or scanner bed.

Costs: $250 a week
Residents supply their own paper
No additional fees for RISO printing or master making


SILKSCREEN RESIDENCY


Silkscreening:
-Traditional and Digital Screen Burning (Photo Emulsion, GOCCOPRO 100 and QS 2536 Series, MiScreen A4)
-Darkroom
-8.5x11, 11x17, and 13x19 Film/ Master output
-Washout booth (add size)
-2 Vaccum tables with hinge clamps (add size)
-Assorted drying racks (add size)
-1 arm vacume press (oversize printing) (add size)
- 4 color x 1 station apparel printing press
-2 flash dryers
-Conveyor dryer

Cost: $350 a week
Silkscreen artists provide their own paper and ink and cover the costs of their screen burning for individual projects. 



STUDIO RESIDENCY


Studio Residents focus on individual projects in the shared studio- this may be writers, designers, or visual artist who would like to learn a bit about printmaking but work primarily outside the mediums of RISO or silkscreening. They may still take the shared workshops and trainings to advance their knowelge and skillset. 

Cost: 
$400 for two weeks
$600 for four weeks

DETAILS

Opportunity:

Each resident will  recieve dedicated desk and storage space in a shared studio. We want to foster an exchange of skills and knowlege and give our residents an opportunity to get to know each other.

Artists are welcome to include workshop or exhibition proposals are part of their projects. We split workshops 70/30 with guest teachers, and gallery sales are split 60/40, artist takes the larger %.

Kichen: Microwave, fridge, espresso machine, coffee and tea, snack cabinet
Private restroom- doubles as our darkroom

Paper cutters (add sizes)
Sewing Machine
Standard stapler
Bone folder
Erasers
Rulers
Cutting mats
Scissors and glue
Markers
Tape
Drill/ hammer/ hanging materials

*If there is a material or tool that would make your residency better, please fill out the special request form on your application.  


Access:

Residents will have access to the studio 11am-7pm, Wed-Sun. The studio is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the gallery is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays 12-6 but artist studios are private. 

We may schedual workshops, open studio sessions, and exhibition openings during residency periods, depending on resource needs and space. Residents may attend these workshops and events at no additional cost. 

Our space is ADA accessible but printmaking is a very physicaly demanding medium and may be unsafe or difficult for some artists to change RISO color drums or burn and print silkscreen screens. If you need special assistance please reach out!

Lodging:

We accept both local and traveling artists. At this time we cannot provide lodging for out of town residents, but do provide a 50% discount on our program fees at to traveling artists to offset this cost and encourge artists from outside the state of Oregon to come visit!

Costs:

Residents will be expected to pay the entire program fee for their chosen residency type before begining their program. They will also be responsible for thier travel and lodging expenses, meals, and individual project materials- paper, apparel, ink, and silks screen burning costs.
