SILKSCREEN MONTHLY INTENSIVE

This course serves as a prerequisite to book open studio time in our silkscreening lab.
This is a 6 week class, meeting once a week, Sundays at 11am.
The goal of this course is to gain experience and cofidence with the variety of silkscreening tools in the studio. We will make several small projects as a group, and then each student will develop and print a final project of their own.
We will cover:
Working in layers: digital design and color seperation for silkscreening/ RISO
Screen burning tools, the MiScreen A4, GOCCOPRO Series 100 and 2536, and photo emulsion
Printing on paper and fabric
Where to get silkscreening supplies locally
Prining tools: 4 arm shirt press, vaccume tables, oversized tables, hinge clamps
Printing techniques: registering multiple colors, color mixing, ink types
Cost:
All demo materials are included in the class. Students will be required to provide their own paper, apparel, and ink for their final projects. They will also need to purchase the screen burns for their final project, rates will vary based on what type and size of screen is made, and how many colors the design is.
